Thank you for your site. My wife and her parents have been disciples of Bill Johnson for some years now, even traveling from Australia to Redding, just to visit his church. I have never agreed with his teaching and over time this has driven a spiritual wedge between us. To some extent, I blame myself for her going down this path as I have not been a proper spiritual leader in our family.
A few days ago, my wife told me that she was done and wanted a divorce, after 22 years of marriage. She read me a recent email prophecy she regularly receives from Bethel. Part of this prophecy said:
“It is time for a new beginning. It is time to leave the house of the fool.”
She followed this by saying that she ‘deserves better than me’.
I am not perfect, but I am not a bad husband or father. She sincerely believes that this ‘prophecy’ was confirmation that she should leave me. How can this be of God? What kind of fruit is this?

Dear Mark, this is not of God and it is fruit of “doctrines of demons” (1 Tim 4:1). Brother, I will pray for you. In the meantime, I highly encourage you to get plugged into a solid church if you’re not already. Be strong and look up, bro. 2 Tim. 2:10

My next door neighbors are packing the UHaul right now to go there! I am deeply saddened by this. I found out last fall they went to the campus from their teen son. He seemed like a skeptic when I asked him about it. So, I went online and did some research of just what type of biblical movement this was. I was saddened at that time that they went down there when I found out just what they are into. Then slowly they started getting rid of their pets, and today, there is a UHaul out there and they are packing up to move a few blocks from the campus tomorrow. Over the last few months they got more distant, the more they got into this movement. I feel so bad for their kids that are 11 year old twins and their 15 year old son. All I can do is pray they learn some discernment before it is too late. I used to belong to a church that was not even nearly as bad as this one, and it took me several years to recover from that! It was through bible study and John MacArthur that confirmed my doubts. But, it still took a long time to heal from a lot of the wounds from belonging to a charismatic evangelical church and their teachings.
